Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) – Alberta Municipalities
The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) offers Alberta homeowners a flexible, low-barrier way to finance energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades. Administered by Alberta Municipalities in partnership with local governments, CEIP allows participants to repay the cost of upgrades through their property tax bill.
Key Features:
- Financing up to 100% of project costs with competitive interest rates.
- Repayment terms of up to 25 years, depending on the municipality.
- Transferable financing: If the property is sold, the new owner can assume the repayment.
- Eligible upgrades include solar PV systems, insulation, windows, HVAC systems, water heating, and more.
- Must use CEIP Qualified Contractors trained to meet program standards.
- Available only in participating municipalities—check availability before applying.
